Amazing vintage Art Deco style double stranded choker, with a golden clasp decorated with Aurora Borealis crystals as accents.

It is a snap closure.

Each Aurora Borealis crystal bead is gradiated and differs in size. There are also oval crystals with a filigree connector, with the tone of antique gold.

The whole necklace is 19" in length, and pendant/clasp measures at 1.5 cm in length, 2 cm in width.

Bought from another collector. Item is used, but only signs of wear is on the clasp itself, not on the crystals.

Aurora Borealis is an iridescent rhinestone finish developed by Swarovski (a maker of fine rhinestones and Austrian crystals still in business) in 1955. These rhinestones were widely used in costume jewelry manufacture in the late 1950s and early 1960s in numerous colors.

Aurora Borealis, also referred to as “Northern Lights”, are glass rhinestones that have a unique lustrous coating, illuminating a variety of colors. Aurora Borealis specifically refers to the paper-thin metallic coating that is dispersed onto crystals or glass beads, producing a gorgeous dazzling shine.
