Kai-Yin Lo from Hong Kong is one of Asia’s first international brands. Celebrated as a designer of jewelry, accessories and ceramics, she melds the cultural heritages of East and West and interprets them in original, contemporary and highly wearable and usable ways. She combines gemstones and semi-precious materials in her jewelry designs, and carefully balances trends from the East and West to come up with a highly meticulate, unique and in her own words, "antique contemporized" piece.
This necklace was purchased from another collector. It is made of real white pearls and gold and genuine hematite. The pendant is made of gold plated silver, as is noted on the back (925 signed). Kai-Yin Lo's signature can also be seen on the clasp.
This piece weighs at a whopping 550 grams (0.55 kg). Hematite and silver is heavy! The pendant measures at 3 cm (width) x 4 cm (length), made of gold plated sterling silver and has a hematite stone in the centre. Each hematite stone and pearl measures at .5 cm in diameter. The total length of the necklace is 16", making it a double-stranded choker. Closure is made of a sterling silver double hook clasp, with the closure being a half-circle filigree design.
