This 16" choker is made of genuine hematite stone and is cold to the touch. While taking photos, I noticed that the stones changed colour according to the light, and I was completely dazzled by this. Hematite is known for its shine, sheer and lustre - it is what is faux black pearls are usually made of. Known as the Alaska Black Diamond, the stone was used in earlier times as an amulet against bleeding, and was known to protect its user.

This necklace was bought from an estate sale in Ontario, from an avid collector of Pan Pacific Gems. Pan Pacific is a handcraft jewelry store in Vancouver, BC that uses natural gemstones found in the area. This hematite was mined, formed and handcrafted in Vancouver and was kept in pristine condition since the 90's.
